Shine bright like a diamond

There comes a time in everyones life where they need a little 'pick me up'. I've been realizing a good amount of my friends are going through tough times, finding themselves, career paths etc. and It got me thinking...When we find ourselves in ruts like those we must tell oneself that we can overcome, pull through and ultimately believe in ourselves. I know, cliché at it's finest but did you ever stop to really soak in those words? believe. in. yourself. What are you capable of? What talents do you posses to make you excel in your life? if "nothing" (which is hard to believe), what talents/knowledge do you wish to learn? Sure there are more talented people, more beautiful people, more intelligent people but at the end of the day should that determine whether or not YOU'RE happy? Letting go of insecure thoughts, doubts and worries over what people think maybe the hardest thing I have learned myself, but let me tell you, I am the happiest I have ever been. Since I have started really living for myself, I've spearheaded my career and blazed a trail! My blog is as prosperous as ever and I'm so thankful for that, and thankful for my readers, YOU guys! I want you all to be reminded that I'm just like you, eat the same foods, shop at the same places and so on... so I know that if I can do it, you can too. Here are some quotes I've gathered throughout the net to help put things into perspective for you:

"There is no passion to be found in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living"

"Define what success looks like for you then go after it"

"If it is detrimental to you emotionally, physically and spiritually, what choice do you have but to let go and flourish with self-respect"

"If you settle for just anything, you’ll never know what you’re truly worthy of"

"Good things don’t come to those who wait.  Good things come to those who pursue the goals and dreams they believe in"

"The difference between who you are and who you want to be, is what you do"

"You define your own life.  Don’t let other people write your life’s story for you"

& finally, to quote a rather popular, infectious top 40 hit by Rihanna herself,
"shine bright like a diamond"

  3. Great photo, post, and also words. I always ask to myself the same questions, but I never get the right answers, the only thing I get are doubts and I worry a lot, I'm still sitting over here looking at that window and watching the blue sky, waiting for a miracle or dream to come true and waiting for answers...I'm also happy, i'm still alive, I don't have friends but I have my family and the most important in my life is God. Thanks to him, i am who i am today and also thanks to my parents. Anyways, thanks for these words, I needed something like this..

    Kisses!

  14. Excellent advice...
I'm 65 and it is learning to believe in myself that has gotten me through break ups, failed businesses and career changes. In spite of it all, I've always been happy.
    Never look back!

  15. I couldn't have agreed more. Thank you for sharing. I recently wrote a post about life in general too.
I often find myself questioning life too and for so long I tried to "search" for myself until I realized that life has to find you. Thanks again for these words :)

    Great POST
